More about LMI

Methodology:
On a weekly basis, vacancies from topjobs and other advertising sources as noted above are classified into the job categories. At the end of each month, the topjobs Job Index is produced. The Job Index displays the job categories ranked in order of the total number of vacancies in each category. Job applications submitted via topjobs are included to indicate the jobseeker demand for each job category. Applications submitted through the topjobs straight-through-processing (STP) online system and applications sent via the topjobs 'apply via email' form are included. Postal applications and applications sent directly by the jobseeker to the employer are NOT included.

Why is topjobs LMI useful?
topjobs LMI is an accurate representation of the real time demand by both employers (who publish vacancies) and jobseekers (who apply for these vacancies). It is based on actual paid-up job advertisements therefore reflecting the accurate behaviour of employers in relation to their recruitment needs. topjobs LMI is a useful adjunct to other Labour Market Information systems in Sri Lanka.
